ediibles.co.za is a premier online destination for high-quality cannabis edibles in South Africa. We were founded by a team of cannabis advocates, culinary artisans, and wellness professionals who share a passion for the plant and a commitment to providing safe, reliable, and enjoyable products to the South African community. We are more than just a retailer; we are dedicated to setting a higher standard for quality and transparency in the emerging cannabis industry.

It comes down to our philosophy: we create products for a superior culinary experience. While many others focus solely on potency, we believe the journey should be just as enjoyable. Our recipes are developed in-house to ensure exceptional flavour and texture, using high-quality ingredients you can taste. We don’t cut corners with artificial substitutes. Our focus is on creating a delicious, consistent, and enjoyable product from start to finish.

In March 2025, the Department of Health issued a sudden notice under the Foodstuffs, Cosmetics, and Disinfectants Act that temporarily banned the sale of all cannabis- and hemp-infused food products. This move caused significant concern and outcry from the public and the industry

What is the difference between THC and CBD edibles?

THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) and CBD (Cannabidiol) are the two most well-known cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant, and they have very different effects.

  • THC Edibles: THC is the primary psychoactive compound in cannabis. Edibles containing THC will produce the euphoric “high” associated with cannabis use. These products are chosen for recreational effects, mood elevation, and for medical users seeking potent relief.

  • CBD Edibles: CBD is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid. Edibles containing only CBD will not produce a “high.” Instead, users often report feelings of relaxation, reduced anxiety, and relief from pain and inflammation. These products are chosen purely for their wellness and therapeutic benefits.

  • Balanced (1:1) Edibles: Some of our products contain a balanced ratio of THC and CBD. The presence of CBD can often moderate the intensity of the THC high, leading to a more balanced and less anxious experience for some users.  

While the terms Sativa, Indica, and Hybrid traditionally refer to different species of the cannabis plant with distinct growth characteristics, they are now commonly used in the industry to describe the expected effects of a product.

  • Sativa: Generally associated with an energizing, uplifting, and cerebral effect. Sativa-dominant edibles are often chosen for daytime use, creativity, and social situations.

  • Indica: Typically associated with a relaxing, sedating, and full-body effect. Indica-dominant edibles are often chosen for evening use, to aid with sleep, or for deep physical relaxation.

  • Hybrid: These products are derived from crossbreeds of Sativa and Indica plants and are intended to offer a more balanced profile of effects, combining elements of both.

It’s important to note that these effects are also heavily influenced by a product’s specific cannabinoid and terpene profile, and individual experiences can vary.

These terms describe the type of cannabis extract used in an edible and refer to the range of compounds present.

  • Full-Spectrum: A full-spectrum extract contains all the cannabinoids, terpenes, and other beneficial compounds that are naturally present in the source cannabis plant, including THC (within legal limits for CBD products). Many users prefer full-spectrum products due to the “entourage effect,” a theory that suggests these compounds work together synergistically to produce more effective results.

  • Broad-Spectrum: This extract is similar to full-spectrum but has had the THC completely removed. It still contains a range of other cannabinoids and terpenes, allowing for a partial entourage effect without any psychoactive component.

  • Isolate: This is the purest form of a single cannabinoid, typically CBD. The cannabinoid has been isolated from all other compounds from the plant. CBD isolate products are guaranteed to be 100% THC-free.

Many of our products, such as gummies and hard candies, are naturally gluten-free. However, our baked goods like brownies and cookies are made in a kitchen that handles wheat and other sources of gluten. Please refer to the specific product page for detailed ingredient and allergen information. If you have a severe gluten allergy, please exercise caution. These products are clearly marked as “Gluten-Free” in their title or description

We offer a wide range of products to suit different dietary preferences. Many of our gummies and other edibles are made without animal products and are suitable for vegans. Please check the individual product page for a “Vegan” tag and a full list of ingredients to confirm. Traditional gummies often contain gelatin, which is an animal byproduct, so we ensure our vegan options use plant-based alternatives. These products are clearly marked as “Vegan/Vegetarian Friendly” in their title or description

User Guidance

I'm new to edibles. How much should I take?

The golden rule of edibles is: “Start low and go slow.” Unlike other forms of cannabis consumption, the effects of edibles are much more potent and long-lasting. If you are new to edibles or have a low tolerance, we strongly recommend starting with a very low dose, between 1 mg and 2.5 mg of THC. You can always take more later, but you can never take less. Even experienced cannabis smokers are often surprised by the strength of edibles, so it is wise for everyone to begin with a low dose when trying a new product. Our product descriptions clearly state the dosage per serving to help you make an informed choice.

Edibles take much longer to take effect than smoking or vaping. When you eat an edible, it must be digested and then metabolized by your liver before the cannabinoids enter your bloodstream. This process can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours, and sometimes longer, depending on factors like your metabolism, body weight, and what else you have eaten. The most common mistake new users make is getting impatient and taking a second dose before the first one has fully kicked in. We strongly advise waiting at least a full 2 hours after your initial dose before considering taking more.

The effects of edibles are not only stronger but also last much longer than other consumption methods. Depending on the dose and individual factors, the effects can last anywhere from 2 to 8 hours, with some residual effects potentially lasting up to 12 hours. You should plan accordingly and ensure you do not have any important responsibilities, such as driving or working, for the remainder of the day after consuming.

If you find you have consumed too much and are feeling anxious or uncomfortable, the most important thing to remember is that the feeling is temporary and will pass. Find a calm, safe, and comfortable space to relax. Stay hydrated by drinking water, and try having a light snack or chew on some black pepper corns. Some people find that consuming some CBD can help to counteract the anxiety from too much THC. If you are feeling overwhelmed, try to sleep it off. Under no circumstances should you attempt to drive.

1 – 2.5 mg

Microdose / First-Time User

Mild relief of symptoms like pain and anxiety; improved focus. Most users will not feel intoxicated. This is the recommended starting point.

2.5 – 10 mg

Standard User / Recreational Dose

Stronger symptom relief; noticeable euphoria; some impairment to coordination and perception. A common dose for regular users.

10 – 25 mg

Experienced User

Strong euphoria; significantly impaired coordination and perception. Not recommended for beginners.

25 mg +

Highly Experienced Users

Very strong, potentially overwhelming effects; increased chance of negative side effects like paranoia. For experienced users with a high tolerance only.

  5. Confirm: Review your order to ensure all details are correct and then confirm your purchase. You will receive an email confirmation once your order is successfully placed.

To provide a convenient and secure shopping experience, we accept several payment methods via PayFast. These are benchmarked against common practices in the South African market. We currently accept:  

  • Credit and Debit Cards: We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard).

  • Instant EFT: Securely pay directly from your bank account through our trusted Instant EFT processor.

  • Direct Bank Transfer (EFT): You can also choose to make a manual EFT. Our banking details will be provided at checkout. Please note that orders paid via manual EFT will only be processed once the payment has been received and cleared in our account, which may take 1-2 business days.

Yes, we offer free shipping on all orders over R1 500. This threshold is set to be competitive with market standards. Free shipping is also available with the VIP Green Box &  Ultimate Cannabis Experience Subscriptions

We pride ourselves on prompt dispatch. Orders are typically processed and dispatched within 1-2 business days. Once dispatched, delivery times are generally between 1-4 business days, depending on your location. You will receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking information once your order has been handed over to our courier partners.

Absolutely. We understand the importance of privacy and discretion. All orders are shipped in plain, unmarked packaging with no external branding or indication of the contents. Your privacy is of the utmost importance to us.

Once your order is dispatched, you will receive a shipping confirmation email containing a tracking number and a link to the courier’s website. You can use this number to monitor the progress of your delivery directly on the courier’s tracking portal, similar to the systems used by other online retailers.

Due to the nature of our products, we can only accept returns for items that are unopened, unused, and in their original sealed packaging. If you wish to return an item, you must notify us within 1 day of receiving your order. Please note that for hygiene and safety reasons, we cannot accept returns on any product that has been opened.

We take great care in packing our orders, but in the rare event that your order arrives damaged or you have received the incorrect item, please contact our customer support team at support@ediibles.co.za within 24 hours of delivery. Please include your order number and a photo of the damaged or incorrect product. We will arrange for a replacement to be sent to you at no additional cost.

Refunds are processed for approved returns of unopened products or in cases where we are unable to fulfill your order. Once a return is received and inspected at our facility, we will process the refund to your original method of payment. Please allow 5-7 business days for the refund to reflect in your account. Please note that shipping costs are non-refundable.
